The Ten Worst Roads in Atlantic Canada
April 27, 2021 – SAINT JOHN, NB – CAA Atlantic has released the results of its 10th annual Worst Roads campaign. The 10 Worst Roads in Atlantic Canada for 2021 as voted by the public are:
- Terra Nova Road, Terra Nova, Newfoundland and Labrador
- Newfoundland and Labrador 410, Newfoundland and Labrador*
- Scotch Lake Road, Scotch Lake, New Brunswick
- Markland Road, Colinet, Newfoundland and Labrador
- Sherwood Road, Mapledale, New Brunswick
- Bog Road, Falmouth, Nova Scotia
- Mount Hebron Road, Studholm Parish, New Brunswick
- Newfoundland and Labrador 414, Newfoundland and Labrador**
- Campbell Settlement Road, Southampton Parish, New Brunswick
- Saint Peters Fourchu Road, Lower Saint Esprit, Nova Scotia
Thousands of votes were cast over the three-week campaign this year, and every road in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland and Labrador was eligible. Votes came from all types of road users, including cyclists, pedestrians, public transit users and motorists.
Road safety is a top priority for CAA Atlantic. Poor road conditions can result in increased vehicle repair costs, insurance claims, work compensation, healthcare costs and wasted time in traffic congestion.
“Every year, our Worst Roads campaign allows the public to identify poor road conditions in their area,” says Gary Howard, Vice President of Communications at CAA Atlantic. “We will now notify government officials of the ten worst roads and hopefully will soon be sharing news on planned repairs and upgrades.”
