Call for Director Nominations

CAA Atlantic is a member organization serving over 300,000 members across all four Atlantic provinces.  CAA Atlantic is a not-for-profit organization that provides an expanding variety of products and services for members, including travel, insurance, roadside assistance, rewards and discounts. We also advocate for the safe mobility of all Atlantic Canadians.  The organization has offices in Halifax, Saint John, Moncton, Fredericton, Charlottetown, and St. John’s.  We are currently receiving applications for a Director to serve on the Board of Directors for CAA Atlantic, which is elected to represent members.

Expected Commitment:

  • Terms are for three years with eligibility to be nominated for re-election for up to two additional terms of three years.   
  • As a Director you will be expected to commit your time to serve on the Board, attend up to six Board meetings a year (1-2 virtual and 3-4 in-person) in addition to Board committee meetings, strategic planning, conferences and Board development sessions. Average commitment annually is between 10-12 days, not including travel time.
  • Generally, most committee meetings are virtual with three in-person Board meetings annually in Atlantic Canada.
  • Remuneration is a moderate stipend for service, aligned with other similar organizations and out-of-pocket and travel expenses are also covered. 

Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate will have proven senior financial leadership capabilities and experience, board governance experience, with a CPA
  • Personal commitment to devote the time necessary to perform the responsibilities of a Board member 
  •  Respectful communicator with a collaborative mindset and ability to exercise sound judgement
  • Live and/or work in Atlantic Canada and be willing to become a member of the organization.
